Uncorrected machine reading. This text was read by machine (Apple Vision OCR) from a scan of a newspaper page, and the page was cut into articles by machine, at the headlines found by their type size. Nothing has been corrected: expect misread words, text from a neighbouring article, and titles that are the machine reading of the headline, some of them only fragments. Quote from the scan, not from this page.
How this article was cut and titled: headline found by type size in the OCR geometry (split_tabloid.py); 1-3 of 6; machine-segmented newspaper page; uncorrected Vision OCR.

Given the prescot crisis, the only answer, be said, "is a permanent soctal contract, a long-term voluntary incomes policy in which the wbole community exercises restraint...The more that is taken out of the national product for personal incomes. the less. is available for schools and hospitals."

The Union Exocutive clearly Sec med to accept this garbage from the man who, far from building more schools and improving the edneation syster, has been implementing the Tory education curs and a fer more of his twn.

The response of the Communist Party members - whose different sections can't seem to agree whether or not they support a social contract was to claim that more hospitals and schools is what the contract is all about. All they could come up with was empty rhetoric calling on the Labour and Corrunist Party dominated Executive to issue a er cuts in teacher training and the supply of teachers.

who also led the attack against an amendment from Sbettield NUT which spelled our a basis for tacklon local associations to mitiale a and trade unionists against all cutbacks in the education service".
